CJ was amazing on the mound last night throwing 7 innings of one hit ball. The other CJ him a 3 run moon shot in the Angels 5-run fifth inning. Post game we all waited (I was at the stadium) while we got by with a little help from our “friends” as the Rangers beat the A’s in another Oakland meltdown. Sadly I missed the champagne dousing and Angels victory lap since I took the train and had to get back to San Diego. Of all days I wish I had driven…
The Angels season so far has been nothing short of Amazing. Josh Hamilton and Kole Calhoun were missing much of the first part of the season, our bullpen was among the worst in April and May and we lost two great starting pitchers through the season, including one with Cy Young or Rookie of the Year potential. Through it all, the Angels persevered on their way to their first division championship in 5 years.
The Angels lead all of MLB in runs scored this year with 744. Second place is Detroit at 718, and third is Colorado with 700. Their offense is feared and their bullpen has become a force to be reckoned with.
With 10 games left to play and 95 wins, the Halos have a shot at their most wins in a season (100), of course, what matters at this point is how we play come October.
For now – we celebrate and enjoy the ride!
